Botanies with Buddies

What’s better than seeing the blooming buds at the botanical gardens with your best buddies? Absolutely nothing. Actually I ended up doing the Botanical Gardens so many times in 2022. It was truly a blessing for my friend Micah to have a year pass and want to share it with me.

I don’t have a lot to say about this colleciton. I love doing macro nature photos. Getting up close and personal with the flowers and other plants is something that makes me immensely happy.

But what is one to do with so many picures and nothing much to say about them? Well, the full collection is available for prints! And you can find them here. Just contact me through this website and we can get a custom order started!

New year, new photos and merch

It’s been a long 2 years dealing with the pandemic and really waking up to a lot of realities and widening perspectives of the world. With that in mind, I want to try to do more.

In 2022, I want to do more with my photos. I have made videos and offered prints for a while now. And I love that.

But I want to continue to evolve how I am able to express my creativity! So I decided to do that with my current newest collection. So here begins the newest chapter. I can’t promise consistency of release. But I can promise I will always be back eventually. I love you all. Please check out the store!

How I got 4.7 Million Photo Views!

I can’t believe I even get to discuss this week’s topic. I am truly humbled by the amount that my pictures have been viewed. Anyways lets discuss the top 4 most viewed photos! And, as always, these are available for prints!

The 4th most viewed photo (over 199,000 views) is one I took a while ago of a local church around the Marietta area. I love the colors. It’s a spring photo. It was one from very early in my photography career.

The 3rd most viewed photo (over 500,000 views) is one of another local building. Planet Ink tattoo parlor was where I spent a couple of sessions shooting photos and videos a couple of years ago. It’s really cool that my photo has stayed as one of their main photos on the map for a while.

The 2nd most viewed photo (over 900,000 views) is one of seahorses at my favorite place to be: the Georgia Aquarium. Y’all know I love shooting the amazing creatures there. This picture is yet another from that first collection I made in early 2019.

The most viewed photo is this picture of the Pantheon in Rome, Italy! This picture has over 1.5 million views. The pantheon is one of my favorite structures in the world. I wrote about it in this blog!

As always, these and tons more are available for prints in the store!

Shooting Blue and Golden Hour in a Day

Welcome to another week! This week, I’m technically sharing 2 collections with you. The first is what I shot in the video. Essentially I wanted to get some amazing fall shots of Kennesaw Mountain before the sun came up, Blue Hour, and as the sun was setting, Golden Hour, in the same day.

So not being a morning person made this a little… difficult. But I managed even without morning coffee. Unfortunately the weather was not on my side, and I was fighting the mist not only on my lenses, but also on the rocks and slick terrain I was climbing.

Fortunately, we can count this excursion in the “No Serious Injury” column. As always, this collection is available for prints! And here is another that are available!

How to Get the Perfect Shot

I literally fought a moth for the perfect shot this week. I was sipping Mountain Dew and watching my friend Josh grill. Well, eventually I came across a stubborn moth. Essentially, I was trying to shoot him while his wings were open to see his beautiful design!

But the moth was NOT having it.

Not only did he wait until I was moving to flash his gorgeous colors, but he also flew at me when I would get too close to him. He was doing everything he could to make sure I didn’t get the shot I wanted.

I even tried to go around the SUV he was resting on, but he was not having it.

Eventually, I was able to wear him down, but it took almost a full hour! It was worth it, though.

60 Minute Portraits Session with Fede

Back in July, Fede asked me for a mini-session before she went out with her friends for the evening. Being the camera-obsessed man that I am, I agreed, and we went to the pond down the street for a session. The video takes you through some of my thoughts during the session as well as when I edited them. I hope you enjot the peak into my process. Don’t forget to like the video and subscribe to my channel. All prints are available here.

For those curious about my portrait sessions, I did capture more, but these were the ones that I got permission to share. Please contact me for portrait session inquiries.

Cochran Shoals Trail Hike Photos

I took a nice photo hike around Cochran Shoals Trail. Now if you keep up with my work, you’ll know that I LOVE shooting out in nature. Macro shots have become one of my favorite ways to share what I see with the world, and this trip is no different.

But let’s back up a little bit. Meet my friend Kate. She’s a goof, and she’s the first person I’ve taken on a photo walk that could walk cirlces around me. It’s impressive. But anyways, apparently this is one of her favorite running trails, so when she suggested we go shoot it, I was all in.

Other than shooting some cool shots of the river, the smaller nature elements were giving me tons to shoot on that busy Saturday afternoon. Between the insects and flora that decorate the trails to the river banks and fungi that we found, everything offered a great shot that day.

My favorite shots of the day are the collection of mushrooms I found. I don’t know why they have been so wonderful this year, but they have been everywhere for me to shoot. They are always unique and beautiful.

Macro Mushroom Photos

Another week goes by and I have more photos for you! This week I decided that I wanted to share my editing process with you. My subject this week comes from one of my many side jobs: delivering food.

I was driving up a steep driveway when I noticed the coolest mushroom in this customer’s yard. After giving him his food, I asked him if he would mind if I shot the mushroom. He was a little tickled that I had asked, and even suggested I take it.

I didn’t take the mushroom. I was too cool for me to disturb. So as I drove down his driveway, I stopped to take some photos that I think really turned out awesome.

I’ve loved doing macro photos lately, and I was very happy to get this one specifically with my wide-angle lens. I’ve had this lens a little over a year, but I finally feel like I understand how to use it. It finally feels like it’s my lens.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this collection of photos. I love doing photography, so I imagine I will continue to create and share with y’all for a long time.

All of these photos are available for prints. Here is the link!
