Kennesaw Mountain Sunset

All photos in this collection are available for prints.

I love my sunset pictures, and I love my local mountain. Kennesaw Mountain has been a challenge I made for myself since the beginning of 2020. Maybe it’s strange, but challenging myself to get the greatest picture of Kennesaw Mountain in 2020 has lead to the image of it becoming a source of comfort for me.

Like I said, since January, I have been searching for the perfect view of the mountain. What I’ve found is that there is no “Perfect View” because the mountain and its surroundings are ever changing. So I instead decided that I needed the most perfect views of the mountain instead.

Which is how we get to my perfect sunset view of Kennesaw Mountain. This one took some searching, to be sure. From where I usually stay around the mountain, the sun sets behind you as you shoot the mountain. So I searched all the time for a great view in Marietta when one night, I was driving and I found it. The perfect sunset view of Kennesaw Mountain is on top of a parking deck at Kennestone Hospital.

But finding the spot is not the only thing you need to be able to capture a gorgeous sunset. You also need a breathtaking sunset! So I waited and waited for a rainy late afternoon (because as I always say, there is never a more beautiful sunset than one after a rainstorm!) I drove on top of a couple of different decks, found the right one, and set up camp.

I hope you enjoyed this collection. All of these are available for prints. Don’t forget to subscribe to this blog for updates on all the content I realease.
